On Love
وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً
And He placed between you affection and mercy.Ar-Rum (30:21)
On Marriage
وَأَنكِحُوا الْأَيَامَىٰ مِنكُمْ
And marry the unmarried among you.An-Nur (24:32)
هُنَّ لِبَاسٌ لَّكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لِبَاسٌ لَّهُنَّ
They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them.Al-Baqarah (2:187)
وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ
And live with them in kindness.An-Nisa (4:19)
On Desire and Human Nature
وَخُلِقَ الْإِنسَانُ ضَعِيفًا
And man was created weak.An-Nisa (4:28)
زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ
Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire — of women.Al-Imran (3:14)
Allah acknowledges that desire for women is beautified — made beautiful — for men. It is not condemned. It is named as a reality of human experience.
