The Sugar Daddy Scam — How It Actually Works

The majority of "sugar daddy" offers online in Pakistan are not wealthy men seeking companionship. They are scams. The pattern is near-identical every time:

1. Profile appears on dating app, Instagram DM, or WhatsApp group — typically with photos of luxury goods, travel, professional appearance
2. Offers "allowance" — Rs 50,000–500,000/month — in exchange for "companionship only"
3. Builds rapport and emotional investment over days or weeks
4. Then: asks for intimate photos or video call "to confirm you're real"
5. Or: asks for a small payment "to verify your account" or "to process the transfer"
6. Once photos or money are received: disappears, or pivots to blackmail

Specific Scam Variations in Pakistan

The Fake Transfer Scam

"I've sent you Rs 200,000 but there's a tax/fee of Rs 5,000 to release it." No real sugar arrangement works this way. Any request for you to send money first is a scam — 100% of the time.

The Photo Collection Scam

The "allowance" never materialises — the goal was always the photos, which are then used for blackmail.

The Identity Theft Scam

"I need your NIC/bank details to process the payment." Real transfers need only your account number. Full NIC enables identity theft and fraudulent loans in your name.
